Liora Foundation - Inspiring Compassion and Light

Veronica Ebu Isaac Parker graduated from Rutgers University in 1994 with a B.S. in
Biology. After that, she continued the Molecular Biology research she started in college and
was published in two scientific journals. In 1995, Veronica attended Osteopathic Medical
School in Chicago and left after one year, finding the program lacking the holistic
perspective she felt necessary for care and healing.  After leaving medical school, Veronica
felt lost. She did not fit anywhere and did not know what direction to take with her life. At this
time, she was introduced to Reiki by her cousin. Veronica chose to study Reiki for self
healing and to find a clearer sense of purpose in her life. In 1998, Veronica received her
USUI Reiki Level III/Master Teacher degree from Gary Jirauch in Manhattan, NY. Reiki
opened the door to all the incredible possibilities for healing. She is married and has 3
children. Veronica*s motto is from the book Jonathan Livingston Seagull. It says, * It*s good
to be a seeker, but sooner or later you have to be a finder, then it is good to give what you
have found as a gift into the world for whoever will accept it*. Veronica has found her gift of
healing through Motherhood, Reiki, and Integrated Energy Therapy.  She is also Parenting
Coordinator for HeARTs for Autism (R), facilitating parents and caregivers of Autistic
persons in holistic self care during monthly programs in Philadelphia. Today, she loves to
teach Reiki, IET and spirituality classes to help people find their inner light and make
someone else*s life brighter. Veronica is the founder of The Sacred Healing Playground a
wonderful playful healing practice.

The Rev. Robin VanHorn Schwoyer is an Ordained Minister in the Episcopal Church. She
graduated from Drexel University in 1987 with Bachelor of Science dual degree in Finance
and Marketing. She has worked in retail management, district management, and also started
3 small businesses. In 1990 her mother was diagnosed with advanced Breast Cancer, and
Robin took care of her and the family until she passed on in late 1991. In the meantime,
Robin began the process for Ordination and started a support group, called the Caring
Circle®, for primary caregivers to chronically and terminally ill. At this point, her studies of
holistic and alternative care expanded. Her ministry work also included outreach to the
addicted and abused in the inner city area of Philadelphia and families in crisis. She has
served as a volunteer chaplain for the Philadelphia Police and worked with a regional
grouping of 12 churches to develop youth ministry. Robin married in 1996 and has 2 sons
and 1 daughter. Her oldest was diagnosed with Autism in 2001. This began her renewed
interest and study of complimentary and alternative care, hoping to find holistic ways to help
her son. Robin is a certified Reflexologist, Therapeutic Touch practitioner, Integrated Energy
Therapy Master Instructor, Reiki Master Teacher, Ama Deus level 1, American Red Cross
Certified Life Guard, and Medical Intuitive. In 2003, Robin started Abundant Life Mission as
a client practice in Philadelphia to assist people with their healing process and encourage
vital living.  During the whole time, her own journey for growth and healing was occurring in
amazing ways. Presently, Robin is on sabbatical from church work, focusing on family and
developing a non-profit organization called HeARTs for Autism ®  which assists Autism
Spectrum families through the Arts, Education and Advocacy.

Liora is the combined effort of Veronica and Robin. Meeting in January of 2004, they
quickly became friends and recognized a shared desire and mission to assist others through
classes, workshops and retreats.  The Institute is a way to express their care and concern
for helping to improve the world around them. Liora is Hebrew, meaning "God's gift of light to
me," and also connects to the Greek Leora, meaning "compassion and light." The name is
also special as a tribute to their children and the "light" that is represented in their given
names, and the amazing sense of love and joy they inspire in all around them.

Compassion and Light - connecting to the Divine Source of Wisdom and Love and
channeling this for others to do the same. We are very grateful for each other, this
mission and the opportunity to serve you.
